Bob and Mr. Fischoeder [Kevin Kline] are all tied up…in a very important meeting.

Synopsis: Bob’s landlord, Mr. Fischoeder, is trying to revive interest in the Wonder Wharf, but his scheming borderline psychotic part-owner brother, Felix, is trying to close the Wharf and build overpriced condominiums and will resort to any method to get his desired results.

Details: Felix Fischoeder [Zach Galifinakis], the scheming borderline psychotic brother of Bob’s landlord, Mr. Fischoeder [Kevin Kline], wants to close Bob’s beloved carnival-like fairground Wonder Wharf and turn it into overpriced condominiums. When Mr. Fischoeder refuses, he ties both him and Bob to a piling underneath the pier where they can wait for the die to come in and drown them. Mr. Fischoeder chooses this point to try and taunt Felix on the belief that Felix never gets anything done. But unbeknownst to Mr. Fischoeder, Fanny – Felix’s 29 year-old girlfriend – is unhappy with Felix and Felix will do anything to please her even if it includes killing his brother and Bob.

Bob and Mr. Fischoeder try to use Bob’s flip cell phone to call Linda and tell her to come and rescue them but Linda only hears the sound of the crashing waves and thinks Bob is butt-dialing her from some bar. Bob and Mr. Fischoeder then try to text Linda but the text gets auto-corrected and Linda, Teddy and the kids each try their hand at deciphering the text unsuccessfully. Before they can send another text, Bob drops the phone and it takes a picture of Mr. Fischoeder’s butt and sends that picture to Linda.

Meanwhile, back at the restaurant, Linda, Teddy and the kids continue to try and decipher Bob’s text and finally figure out that he is tied up somewhere and leave to find him. They make a stop at the police station to report the incident but Police Detective Bosco only concludes that Bob is drunk-texting. After taking a false lead into a French restaurant, Linda, Teddy and the kids eventually deduce that Bob and Mr. Fischoeder are tied up under the pier at the Wonder Wharf and go to retrieve them.

However, Felix has finally had second thoughts about killing his brother and Bob and has already decided to come and try to save them. He takes off in a paddle boat followed closely by Linda, Teddy and the kids in three more paddle boats. Felix arrives at the pier column where he has tied up Bob and his brother but is unable to quickly make an action plan on how to rescue them and decides to try and shoot the ropes off with his gun before Linda, Teddy and the kids arrive and confront him. The group of them are about to formulate a plan when an irate Fanny shows up, takes the gun from Felix and threatens to kill all of them, starting with Bob.

Bob quickly thinks up a stalling tactic and asks Fanny to sing one of her songs – this buys enough time for Bob to tell Linda to ram a nearby piling with her paddle boat, causing chunks of the pier to fall on Fanny and Felix, knocking them out of their paddle boat. With the tide rising almost over Bob and Mr. Fischoeder’s heads, Linda then dives underwater and unties them for the happy ending everybody wanted.
